Denim has been Diesel’s DNA since its inception, but for the Pre-Fall 2025 collection, the brand takes its passion for this iconic fabric to new heights. With silhouettes that stray from the traditional and innovative materials that mimic denim, Diesel presents a proposal that fuses classicism with the avant-garde, reaffirming its status as an undisputed benchmark in fashion.
Glenn Martens, Diesel’s creative director, explains: ‘This is a collection that explores denim in its entirety, from tailoring to footwear to pieces treated to look like denim. We want the archetypes of this fabric to transcend the classic five-pocket jeans: the idea is to break boundaries and expand the possibilities of our most iconic fabric. It’s a complete wardrobe with textile innovations that remind us that Diesel is denim, and denim is Diesel.’
The collection plays with a surprising mix of styles, incorporating everything from sporty basics like nylon tracksuit jackets to bra tops and polo shirts. However, what really stands out are the new fluid cuts and the use of a softly draped denim material that introduces a whole new dimension to the design. Fluidity and draping are combined with quilted jackets and trompe l’oeil effects that transform denim into a canvas for experimentation.
Textural illusions are not far behind: skirts that mimic the seam lines of a thong, jackets printed with other jackets, and waistcoats that fuse real denim with denim knit are just a few examples of how Diesel challenges the perception of what denim can be. Wear and deconstruction also play a starring role, with frayed mini-dresses, destroyed denim and trouser skirts adding to the season’s rebellious vibe.
There’s no shortage of disruptive details, such as a gecko print skirt, a tea dress with a tarantula pattern, and reversible faux sheepskin jackets that add unexpected texture to the ensemble. In footwear, Diesel doesn’t disappoint, presenting loafers, ankle boots and denim boots, some with sheepskin finishes, complemented by the new line of accessories, including the must-have Double-D bag for the season.
