Dion Lee‘s show was not scheduled for Shanghai Fashion Week and was only announced earlier this week. There was no reason for secrecy other than the fact that the designer and his team were willing to pull off the feat. Needless to say, they succeeded. After 10 years of presenting at New York Fashion Week, the designer moved to the 100th floor of the Shanghai Financial Centre, one of the tallest buildings in China, to showcase his new offering.
Experimental tailoring and knitwear is provided by his long-standing partnership with Woolmark. This season Lee has based his work on one concept: the flame. “It’s a symbol of creation and destruction,” explained Lee, who says he was inspired by both its beauty and its treacherous nature. From a star-shaped lapel overlay, to fire printed on dresses, halter tops and fur coats. The collection also included denim, leather, blazers, bombers and more, all with a grunge edge. F24 presents custom UGGs, which combine Dion Lee’s signature codes with the iconic UGG Classic Boot, GoldenGlow and Mini Platform.
