The retailer has been chosen by the three stripes brand to participate in this design competition linked to football.
But… What is the Euro Style Cup really all about? It’s an exciting football shirt design competition in which 16 of adidas‘ top European partners are pitted against each other to come up with the most attractive idea, but it’s the public who have the final decision on who becomes the winner.
And of course, FOOTDISTRICT has designed its special iteration taking into account the main values that a piece of this kind should include: creativity, identity and expression. In addition, it has decided to establish new connections between history, music, art and trends.
Nacho Bermúdez and Diego Martínez, founders and CEOs of FOOT DISTRICT tell us in first person how this exciting process has been and reveal the story behind the T-shirt inspired by their team and the city of León: “The Lelio VII left part of its mark in León. A community spirit that in the 60s of the 20th century forged urban tribes and subcultures around music, causing the city to be a pioneer in holding international festivals in Spain. The events of 1966 and 1967 provided the identifying elements for these growing tribes and laid the foundations for a musical and aesthetic culture full of external influences. If the Lelio VII travelled around expanding its references, now it was León itself that was invaded by new ideas”.
This sense of belonging, shared by the Roman legions and urban subcultures, is still present in the local idiosyncrasy through purple-tinted festivals that maintain the legacy of those original ones from the 60s. A play of opposites present in the very identity of FOOTDISTRICT and adapted to the concept of the garment.
If you are an adidas CONFIRMED user you will be able to choose your favourite design and make the winning T-shirt a reality. The voting period has already started and will be open until 21 April.
