Izzy Du, the London-based Chinese-Canadian designer, presented her Autumn/Winter 2023 collection entitled “Suite Bergamasque”.
Following the launch of her first official collection “Provenance” presented on the catwalk, young up-and-comer Izzy Du has returned to offer her new capsule dubbed “Suite Bergamasque”. The Autumn/Winter 2023 collection brings back that sense of dimensional contrast and distortion of proportions that designer Izzy Du is known for.
The designs are tinged with earthy, vibrant and gradient colours and are composed of different fabrics with which the designer manages to materialise surreal shapes that totally modify the silhouettes of the models. Among the garments are the ION Puffers and the AXI Puffer marked by completely detachable individual rings.
Among the fabrics the Chinese-Canadian designer has used in “Suite Bergamasque” are water-repellent bi-elastic polyamide for comfort, breathability and versatility for the down. In addition, all the puffers are filled with duck feathers and lined with waterproof fabric made from 100% recycled polyamide.
“I titled this collection “Suite Bergamasque” as an ode to one of my favourite piano suites by Debussy, as it was also one of my favourite pieces to play as a child. As it contains four different movements with different feelings, it seemed appropriate for this collection, as I mix garments with different approaches into one unified suite”.
