Skechers has signed Doja Cat, the company’s first resident artist, as its image.
The rapper stars in the brand’s new ad inspired by anime and cyberpunk aesthetics, in which her two opposing identities are pitted against each other in a battle. In both her “light” and “dark” versions, she appears wearing Skechers’ UNO neon sneakers with cushioned soles.
Other celebrities such as Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Kim Kardashian or Demi Lovato have collaborated with the footwear brand in the past, and Doja becomes the latest star to sign on as the face of Skechers.
The singer had already worn the sneakers at the Time100 Gala in April, wearing a corset and miniskirt customized by designer Cierra Boyd from a black UNO.
