Donatella departs Versace with a look back to the past

Donatella bids farewell with archives, supermodels and classic codes that sum up three decades at the helm of Versace.

Donatella departs Versace with a look back to the past

Donatella Versace, designer, entrepreneur and symbol of the brand, bids farewell to her position by reuniting the key figures who defined the house’s imaginary. Versace’s Fall 2025 campaign is not just a collection; it is a statement of affection.

The campaign features Claudia Schiffer, Kate Moss, Amber Valletta, Kristen McMenamy, Natasha Poly, Saskia de Brauw, Anok Yai, Liu Wen, Mica Argañaraz, Mila Van Eeten and Jacqui Hooper. All of them, wrapped in metal, archive and silhouettes portrayed by Mert & Marcus.

‘Every collection is a story, and this is the story of Versace,’ said Donatella. There is no nostalgia. There is narrative. What you see in this campaign is an intimate farewell that is not meant to be tragic, but celebratory.

And among the eternal codes of the house’s clothes, the liquid metal and the impossible waists, the new Virtus bag appears, called to be the symbol of this new stage.

All this comes after months of speculation, confirmed this year with the purchase of Versace by the Prada Group for 1.25 billion euros. And with it, the appointment of Dario Vitale as the new creative director. The changeover is now official. Even so, Donatella, far from leaving, will continue as Versace’s global ambassador.
