Dr. Martens and Smiley celebrate the joy of counterculture

This season, Smiley reimagines three of Dr. Martens’ most recognisable silhouettes: the 1460 boot, the 1461 shoe and the Jorge clog.

Dr. Martens and Smiley celebrate the joy of counterculture

After teaming up with Marc Jacobs for the 10th anniversary of the Jadon boot, Dr. Martens is back with a collaboration with Smiley.

And what better way to do it than with the iconic 1460 silhouette, which has become a cultural icon over the years. Recognised at first glance by its eight eyelets, smooth leather and yellow stitching, it is updated with embossed Smiley graphics and yellow details such as eyelets and laces.

The Dr. Martens 1461 shoe has also been intervened, where the Smiley logo is printed in large format, taking over the toe, the instep and the back strap. Like the boot, it comes with two pairs of laces, one black with the brand’s text and the other yellow with the logo.

Finally, to complete the launch, a black suede Chewbacca version has been included with a bouclé Smiley insignia from the iconic George clog. It features buckle fastenings and adjustments that allow for a fully customised level of fit on both the heel and instep.
