Dr. Martens presents its new collaboration with Japanese brand Undercover: A selection that enhances the Made in England line and is marked with a distinctive grid check pattern.
It is no coincidence that Jun Takahashi, creative director of Undercover, has been one of the designers associated with Dr. Martens for many years. The Japanese designer’s countercultural influences and underground aesthetic fit perfectly with the DM world. He even contributed his own design to the British brand’s 60th anniversary 1460 Remastered series. For almost a decade, through his Undercover label, he has been bringing new perspectives by remixing designs and styles.
And this latest collaboration was to be no different. Inspired by Takahashi‘s love of 70s cinema, the collection includes three new versions of the 1461 three-eyelet shoe in black, cherry red and blue. Each features a distinctive check print from the Undercover archive and the phrase “We make noise not clothes” emblazoned across it.
As part of the Made in England line, they are made in England, made from durable Smooth leather with black laces and eyelets and iconic yellow stitching. They come complete with a double logo sock lining and bespoke packaging.
The exclusive Dr. Martens x Undercover collection will be available on 13 January via the British brand’s website as well as at selected retailers.
