A silhouette that has shaped the style of new generations for more than a decade. The Jadon boot represents the rebellious, non-conformist attitude of Dr. Martens and stands as an anti-mainstream cult icon.
The Jadon silhouette was born with a very definite purpose: to differentiate the codes that represent the iconic 1460 boot and maintain the Dr. Martens DNA. A kind of positive mutation. A natural evolution. An option that would take up the brand’s heritage throughout its history. And so it did: it quickly found its way into a growing subculture of alternative consumers who were characterised by their loud and bold style.
Thanks to its renowned and formidable Quad sole – a platform in the most literal and metaphorical sense – the Jadon boot masters a vibrant, fluid and fearless self-expression, conquering the music industry. A must-have for all non-conformists, it became an antidote to the mainstream and a canvas for disruptive collaborations.
“This silhouette plays a very important role in pop music, grunge, progressive…. It empowers artists who really embrace the brand,” says Darren McKoy, creative director of Dr. Martens.
Now, in 2023, it celebrates ten years of pure self-expression through a short film featuring anecdotes and reflections from former creative director Damien Wilson, current creative director Darren McKoy, renowned photographer Tommy Ton, fashion expert Bryanboy and different profiles who have collaborated with Dr. Martens over the years.
