With the arrival of DVD, VHS tapes became history. However, there are many who still keep tapes at home, totally unaware of their current value, and some collectors are paying exorbitant prices for this old format that was left behind.

Currently thousands of euros are being paid for film titles that almost anyone can still have stored in a corner of the house or in the storage room. On Ebay or Wallapop the first VHS editions of “The Little Mermaid” are sold for 36,000 euros or “The Lion King” for 47,402 euros.

The Sun newspaper already announced that in the United States between 4,000 euros and 8,000 euros were being paid on Ebay for some VHS tapes of titles such as Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Star Wars: A New Hope, Top Gun, Rocky, Jaws or Ghostbusters.
