ERL dyes its iconic “Vampsneaker” bubblegum pink

California-based brand ERL expands its colour palette with a new edition of its Vampsneaker, its most viral sneaker. The silhouette, which reimagines the classic skate shoe aesthetic with oversized proportions, is now presented under the name “Bubblegum”, in a monochromatic palette dominated by pink. A burst of bubblegum that would make Violet Beauregarde smile.

Dubbed the ‘Bubblegum’ Vamp, this new release features a gradation of pinks ranging from intense fuchsia on the upper to softer shades evoking the iconic Hubba Bubba on the soles, laces and lining. The brand’s signature woolly felt exaggerates the padding to the extreme, blurring the line between sneaker and slipper. Yes, it looks like a slipper.

The result is a piece consistent with ERL’s imagery, where suburban nostalgia and DIY spirit dialogue with contemporary codes of fashion and skate culture. The campaign accompanying the launch extends this monochromatic narrative to all visual elements: from coordinated outfits to objects intervened in the same pink spectrum. A full-blown pink overdose.
