“HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season. In the interim, we are allowing our highly sought-after cast to pursue other opportunities,” HBO said. The statement came after rumours surfaced on social media that the scripts had been scrapped and that Euphoria was, in fact, cancelled. However, it appears that season 3 will not air until 2025.
The information, however, suggests that pre-production is not going smoothly. Sam Levinson, the creator, has an anarchic modus operandi: he gets as involved as possible in the projects during filming (even having marathon days that provoke complaints among the extras working on Euphoria). With HBO’s decision to allow the actors to take on other projects, it also complicates the involvement of all of them, especially if the release date is kept.
