According to director Steven Knight, the script is almost finished and the feature film will start shooting in the middle of this year.
Set for release in 2025, the Peaky Blinders prequel film will star Cillian Murphy himself as Tommy Shelby and the great Paul Anderson as Arthur Jr, among other familiar faces. Set against the backdrop of World War II, the gangster family that controls the city of Birmingham (among other territories) will return with new adventures set in the 1930s.
Further details about the film have not yet been revealed but, in the words of the director himself, “the final details are being worked on right now” as the plan is to start filming this year.
The series, which premiered in 2013 and has six highly entertaining seasons, is available on Netflix. A must-see in capital letters.
