Continuing with the idea of celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year, as they have done in previous years with the Year of the Rabbit and Year of the Tiger, EVISU presents its ‘Year of the Dragon’ denim collection for 2024. According to tradition, the Year of the Dragon is considered a year of transformation, growth and abundance. This capsule features a denim jacket, limited to 400 pieces and a pair of jeans, limited to 500 pieces, further accentuating the exclusivity of the launch.
The Chinese Lunar New Year 2024, which celebrates the Dragon, inspired the exclusive design of this capsule. In Chinese mythology, the dragon is seen as a powerful symbol of good fortune, controlling wind and rain. Similarly, in Japan, the dragon is revered as a water deity, signifying favourable weather and prosperity. The Year of The Dragon collection incorporates these cultural elements, with a design spirit that aims to bring good fortune to the wearer.
In addition, the design is inspired by “Ryū Odori” and includes symbolic elements such as the Daruma doll, used for making wishes, and the Japanese kanji for “dragon”. The red and gold colour scheme represents the warning of evil and the enhancement of prosperity and is combined with cherry blossom and dragon-inspired motifs. Each pair of jeans and jackets comes in special packaging, including a wooden box adorned with embossed gold coin patterns and laser-engraved EVISU logos.
EVISU’s Year of The Dragon capsule will be launched on 20 December, via the official website.
