EXCLUSIVE: This is how we lived the Dior fashion show with ByCalitos

Yesterday was the celebration of Dior’s Summer 2024 fashion show and the fifth anniversary of Kim Jones as creative director of the Maison, and we experienced it with ByCalitos, a loyal follower and friend of the house.

The event took place at the École Militaire in Paris, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, where the now emblematic giant Dior cube was erected and prepared to unveil the new collections and welcome hundreds of exclusive guests. ByCalitos, once again, was able to witness what happened there and discovered, along with the H. team, the new and daring proposal of Kim Jones for the Summer 2024 season. For this special occasion, she wore a total look by Dior composed of a technical jacket in grey, a sartorial skirt-trousers in stone and the renowned B30 sneakers designed by Thibo Denis.

At the end of the show, we chatted a bit with Carlos about the collection, his connection with the house and some of his favourite pieces:

HIGHXTAR (H): What do you like most about Dior?

ByCalitos (BC): The synergies generated with my public and with young people in general. It is an avant-garde house that is always one step ahead of the rest and also stands out for its exclusive collaborations and its approach to streetwear. Moreover, from the beginning, Dior has believed in me and has positioned itself by my side and that is something I will always be grateful for. I feel comfortable with the team and I enjoy working and collaborating with them as well as wearing their clothes. It meets all my requirements to be considered a top brand.

(H): How did your relationship with the house begin?

(BC): As a result of a joint collaboration. That’s when it all began: I started buying and becoming a customer of the brand. Little by little I was introduced to the Dior universe and forged my relationship with the team, attending in-store events, creating content for social media, doing seedings to show my audience the new collections and, finally, coming to the Paris shows to discover the collections first-hand. For me, it’s definitely the greatest thing you can aspire to.

(H): What do your style and Kim Jones’ vision have in common?

(BC): Kim Jones’ vision has always been characterised by doing impossible things and that has always caught my attention. The fact that when she was at Vuitton she collaborated with Supreme or that now at Dior she has designed collections with Denim Tears, ERL, Travis Scott or Jordan is amazing to me. In the end, it’s very similar to the style that I consume and we share the same taste for combinations of brands, colours, styles…

(H): Why did you choose this look for today?

(BC): The fact of combining a skirt with a pair of trousers seems to me something very innovative that I had never done before. Also, by combining it with a technical style parka that I’m more used to, I think it gives it the definitive touch that, for a special day like today, I was looking for.

(H): An everyday look from the collection?

(BC): This everyday look is something I could wear and plays with a style just like mine.
