This design aimed at future generations is inspired by the Club’s campaign slogan ‘Equality is in our colours. Empowering future generations’, using ‘Lila Barça’ as a base, the result of a gradient of the original blue and maroon colours.
As part of the Club’s firm commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion, and on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 8 March, FC Barcelona wanted to go one step further with different actions for equality and the importance of giving visibility to women in society and in the world of sport.
This creation, the driving force behind this year’s 8M campaign, seeks to connect with the younger generations in order to raise awareness of equality, based on the Club’s slogan ‘Equality is in our colours. Empowering future generations’.
The design of this exclusive and unisex piece is inspired by the gradient of the original Barça colours, which gives rise to the ‘Lila Barça’. With a lifestyle style, the design has the identity of a renowned Catalan and culé designer, who has dressed international artists such as Beyoncé or Rosalía, with the mixture of colours as a base and the combination of different techniques.
The ‘Lila Barça’ T-shirt features the FC Barcelona crest on the chest, with the integration of Maria Escoté’s design based on the colours blue and maroon running diagonally across the front.
Equality, brotherhood, union, creativity, identity, strength and the cultural value that characterises FC Barcelona are the values that the designer wanted to materialise in this creation. A feminine line, the importance of art and artisan technique represent in this design the essence and beauty of inclusion and change.
The techniques used in this artwork are gouache, acrylic and oil, applied with a flat brush and palette knife.
