The iconic tongue and lips emblem will replace the Spotify emblem on the first team kit to celebrate the release of the Rolling Stones’ new album ‘Hackney Diamonds’, in a special collaboration between the club, Spotify and the iconic rock band.
FC Barcelona and Spotify have done it again. The shirt that Barça will wear for the Clásico on 28 October will once again be an iconic piece of clothing. The Tongue and Lips logo of the Rolling Stones (Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood) will replace the Spotify logo on the shirt, bringing the spirit of a band that has played all over the world to the global stage of the match.
The Rolling Stones’ new album ‘Hackney Diamonds’ will be released on 20 October, the first with new studio tracks since 2005. A comeback that FC Barcelona and Spotify wanted to celebrate in style. The band’s logo will appear on the kit for the Barça-Real Madrid match on 28 October and on the women’s team shirt for the Liga F match against Sevilla on 5 November.
Commenting on their new collaboration, The Rolling Stones said: “We’re big football fans and we’re honoured that Spotify have brought our Tongue and Lips logo to adorn the FC Barcelona shirt to celebrate the release of the Stones’ new Hackney Diamonds album. We’ll be cheering on the players on the pitch, as well as the fans around the world who will be tuning in to watch this iconic match.”
On the occasion of the Clásico and to delve deeper into the world of rock, Spotify will also create a new ‘Matchday Playlist’ that includes great tracks from this musical genre, including some of the Rolling Stones’ masterpieces.
T-shirts and merchandising
The Stones appearing on the Barça shirt falls into the category of things that only happen once in a lifetime. Therefore, to immortalise it as the occasion deserves, on Monday 23rd, two exclusive editions of the match shirt will go on sale, allowing you to have at home what is already considered a real museum piece.
On the one hand, the FC Barcelona x The Rolling Stones Limited Edition will consist of 1899 units in Match quality and, on the other hand, the FC Barcelona x The Rolling Stones Signed Limited Edition, which will be the most exclusive, will consist of only 22 units of the shirt, also in Match quality, and with the signature of the starting players of the two matches, the Clásico and the Liga F clash. These pieces will be available for pre-sale through the Club’s website.
In addition to the match kits, both Barça and Stones fans will be able to complete their wardrobe with a special merchandising line of clothing with the Stones, Spotify and Barça logos, which will also go on sale on the 23rd and will include, among others, a sweatshirt, a cap and a scarf. From now on, these are essential items in any music fan’s outfit.
