An innovative project in collaboration with AzzeroCO2 and the social cooperative La Nuova Arca aims to revitalise the Falcognana pine forest in Rome.
Coinciding with the celebration of International Biodiversity Day, FENDI has unveiled its latest commitment to the environment and is partnering with AzzeroCO2, a sustainability consultancy founded by Legambiente and Kyoto Club that supports companies interested in developing specific projects aimed at reducing their environmental footprint.
The fashion house, together with the consulting firm, identified the problem threatening the endangered pine forest surrounding the shelter for women, children in need, migrants and refugees run by La Nuova Arca on the outskirts of Rome. The area, known as Falcognana, has an infectious parasite, so all efforts have been focused on healing the diseased pine trees and restoring the diversity of the flora by planting 14 enzymes and a mix of 180 other plant species native to the region. With this move they aim to restore and enhance local biodiversity while creating a botanical garden that contributes to the wellbeing of the community.
FENDI, La Nuova Marca and AzzeroCO2 thus begin a two-year collaboration and take a step towards environmental conservation and community engagement.
And speaking of sustainable commitments… We talk with Andrea Rosso, Diesel’s Sustainability Ambassador.
