This revamped version of the Nugget has been developed in collaboration with well-known motorhome conversion specialist Westfalia, with the aim of incorporating the latest innovations in design, connectivity and driveability.
One of the key features of this launch is the availability of a plug-in hybrid powertrain (PHEV) option. This electrified variant employs a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine, combined with an 11.8 kWh battery that also enables all-electric drive mode.
Inside, the Nugget features a multi-zone design, creating distinct spaces for cooking, living and sleeping. Although it features two double beds, Ford has ensured ample space for movement.
Additional enhancements in this latest generation include a revamped L-shaped galley layout, swivel and heated captain’s chairs for the driver and front passenger, a rail-mounted rear bench and a standard rear shower with hot/cold water. Other features include an operable roof for ease of operation, roll-up sunblinds and integrated storage solutions for exterior furnishings.
In terms of technical features, the Nugget includes Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, Reverse Brake Assist and a 360-degree camera for added safety. In the cabin, driver and passenger are met with a digital dashboard and a 13-inch infotainment touchscreen with Ford’s SYNC 4 system. An extra 7-inch touchscreen inside provides control over items such as interior LED lighting, water levels and battery status.
In addition, the Nugget offers wireless charging and a standard 5G modem. Also featured is an innovative sunroof option capable of illuminating the interior and recharging the auxiliary battery.
The new Ford Nugget is now available for reservations, primarily in the UK, with prices for the EcoBlue Titanium variant starting at approximately $83,000 USD. Following the initial launch, the PHEV option is expected to arrive within the next 12 months.
