From latte to phantom blonde: all the blondes this summer

Mushroom, chai, ash, sandy, vanilla, butter, honey, champagne… the list of existing blondes is endless, although not all of them are trending this summer 2025. Latte blonde will be one of the most prominent, but so will ghost blonde and natural bronde. The important thing is that once we decide on one, we know how to care for it and, of course, make the most of it. The professionals at David Künzle show us how to do it, what products to use, and how to maintain it when the warmer months arrive.

This summer, the trend for blonde hair will be brighter and more natural shades like honey, warm and soft blondes that adapt to our skin tone. Beige and sandy tones will be welcomed, hence latte blonde is one of the favorites for the coming months: “I would add soft waves and caramel or vanilla highlights; it barely requires any care or touch-ups, so it’s fantastic for summer, a time of year when we don’t feel like worrying so much about our hair and instead want to enjoy our vacations,” says David Lesur of David Künzle.

Phantom blonde will also be a hot topic, a subtle, natural, and almost imperceptible shade that intertwines soft light touches with our natural hair. Or the classic golden, wheat, and ash blonde, along with Californian highlights: “There’s no summer without these highlights, just as there is no summer without babylights. Both are techniques that don’t damage the hair and require very little care or maintenance.” For obvious reasons, sandy blonde will be another standout color, ideal for women with fair or very fair skin, or again, chai, a very trendy beige in cream tones.

Whichever we choose, David Künzle emphasizes the fragility of blonde hair during the summer months, especially if it’s dyed: “We’re talking about a process that involves bleaching, and that weakens and sensitizes the hair, so it’s essential to care for and nourish it more than natural hair. To maintain its health and shine, there are shampoos with violet pigments to counteract yellowish tones, or blue ones for orange tones. In any case, we recommend nourishing it with conditioner after every wash and, at least once a week, doing a deep, restorative treatment for the hair fiber with a mask.”

Maintaining your blonde color is a constant task, so a proper routine is necessary, although you should be clear that the use of purple shampoo does not have to be daily. First, you should apply the purple shampoo every two weeks. If your blonde hair looks white or platinum, you can use it once a week, alternating with a mild shampoo to nourish and hydrate your strands: “And if the hair has already been weakened by coloring, we should complement its use with a mask and an oil that hydrate the hair fiber, always keeping in mind that purple shampoo should be used sparingly to prevent it from being ineffective or even harmful” – Dalire.
