From the Call of Duty universe to the real world: Hamilton unveils Captain Price’s watch

The watchmaker is linking its military heritage with the world of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 through a special edition of the Khaki Field Mechanical.

There are objects that end up becoming part of a character’s identity. In films, a watch can feature in a memorable scene; in a video game, it can form part of the kit of a protagonist whom millions of players recognise instantly.

Hamilton has been exploring the relationship between watchmaking and fiction for decades, and is now bringing it to life once again in the world of de Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 with a special edition of the Khaki Field Mechanical linked to one of the series’ most iconic characters: Captain Price.

Hamilton’s connection with the entertainment industry began in 1932, when one of its watches appeared in ‘Shanghai Express’. Since then, the brand has featured in over 500 film and television productions, with models that have come to form part of the characters’ identities. The Ventura from ‘Men in Black’ and the Khaki Field Murph from ‘Interstellar’ are two examples of how a watch can transcend the screen.

But this connection with storytelling is not limited to cinema. Hamilton has also brought its watchmaking expertise to the world of video games, incorporating its designs into titles such as ‘Death Stranding’, ‘Far Cry 6’ and ‘Resident Evil’. With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, the brand continues to explore that link between watchmaking and entertainment, this time through one of gaming’s most iconic characters: Captain Price.

Captain Price is one of the most of Call of Duty. His experience, leadership and character have made him a key figure in the franchise. And, as is often the case with the most iconic characters, his kit is also part of his identity.

The Khaki Field Mechanical featured in Modern Warfare 4 embodies precisely that concept: a military-inspired, functional watch with no superfluous elements, designed to fit naturally into the character’s world.

Its design draws inspiration from the service watches that Hamilton manufactured for the armed forces, reinterpreting them through visual elements from the video game.

The result is the Khaki Field Mechanical Call of Duty Special Edition, a 38 mm watch with a black PVD-coated steel case and a grained dial that reinforces its tactical aesthetic.

The yellow details and the distinctive typography of the number 4 establish a direct link with the graphic identity of Modern Warfare 4, whilst the luminescent finish on the hands and hour markers enhances readability in low light.

One of its most distinctive features is found on the back, where a recorded sound clip plays Captain Price’s iconic line: ‘Bravo Six, going dark’. It’s a nod that Call of Duty fans will recognise instantly, linking the watch to its protagonist’s identity.

The khaki-green fabric strap and black buckle complete a look inspired by British military kit. Inside, the H-50 hand-wound mechanical movement, with an 80-hour power reserve, maintains the link with Hamilton’s watchmaking tradition and the practical character of the Khaki Field collection. The edition is also presented in a special leather case inspired by traditional cigar boxes, a nod to Captain Price’s world that extends the experience beyond the watch itself.

With this collaboration, Hamilton once again demonstrates that watches can be much more than mere accessories within a story. Captain Price’s Khaki Field Mechanical makes the leap from the virtual world to the real world, bringing with it the essence of Call of Duty and a watchmaking tradition closely linked to adventure, functionality and authenticity.
