At the 29th edition of the Critics Choice Awards, the awards given out by the 250-member Film Critics Association, the big winner of the night was ‘Oppenheimer’, which once again confirmed what the experts had been saying since its premiere. With eight awards, including best film, it has beaten ‘Barbie’, its main competitor for months, with six awards won by the feature film about the doll.

In the series section, the winners in the event held at the Fairmont Century Plaza hotel in Los Angeles were ‘Succession’ and ‘The Bear’, fulfilling the predictions in the drama and comedy categories, respectively. The Golden Globes, which took place just a few days ago, continued in the same vein as the Golden Globes, although there were some surprises, such as Paul Giamatti’s victory over Cillian Murphy in the best actor category.
