GANNI and 66°NORTH reconnect for Fall-Winter season

This creative partnership, which draws inspiration from Icelandic heritage and outdoor spirit, marks their fourth collaboration since the first in 2019.

GANNI and 66°NORTH reconnect for Fall-Winter season

The new 14-piece collection debuted on the runway during GANNI’s Fall/Winter 2023 show at Copenhagen Fashion Week.

GANNI creative director Ditte Reffstrup expressed her excitement about the continued collaboration: “I can’t believe this is our fourth collaboration, we are so aligned as people and as brands. We share the same sense of pride in where we come from and, for this collection, I wanted to go back to our roots and revisit some of those iconic pieces that really make us who we are. This season I’ve been reflecting on our journey and I love how those introspective elements come through in the collection while still being fun and new.”

The line fuses functionality and style, designed for life on the go, ready to face the harshest weather conditions and changing environments. Materials used include Gore-Tex, known for its lightweight, breathability and waterproofing, as well as Bluesign and Oeko-Tex certified fabrics, along with Seaqual, an initiative that uses 95% recycled polyester from ocean plastic waste.

Inspiration for the collection’s design, color palette and shapes comes from Iceland, with its vast landscapes and topography serving as a source of creativity. The collection features the new and improved Kria jacket, along with color-blocked cargo skirts, bombers and vests, creating a unique fusion of functionality and style.

Bjarney Harðardóttir, CEO of 66°NORTH, added about the collaboration, “Our first collaboration with GANNI launched in 2019 and with FW23 we are launching our fourth. The journey with the GANNI team has been fun, creative and opens up something new every time. Creating a fun and creative space, full of learning is one of the key objectives with collabs, in my opinion. And it’s inspiring to see how both brands bring their unique DNA to the table. I’m thrilled with the result and hope you like it as much as I do.”
