‘The Craft’ not only showcases deep experimentation with sustainable materials, but also reinvents the figure of the “GANNI Girl” in a vibrant Parisian context. With a focus on responsible production, the brand’s playful and contemporary approach stands out in a display of high contrasts, dynamic layering and bold graphics that celebrate its arrival in the French capital.
Ditte Reffstrup, creative director, said of the collection: ‘We wanted to channel the intuitive confidence and dynamic energy of the GANNI woman, someone who is in tune. This collection is about courage, empowerment and connection, pushing our boundaries in both design and innovation. My heart beats more for responsible fabrics, and our Fabrics of the Future programme looks magical’.
The presentation opened with a custom look: a belted blazer with chrome eyelets, complemented by a sheer organza blouse and a hybrid skirt in a soft white hue. As the show progressed, the narrative was built around the interplay of opposites – hardness and softness, fluidity and structure, transparency and opacity – with an oversized dress made from pieces of GANNI T-shirts followed by a structured leather midi with ruffled trim.
The catwalk became a battleground of styles, with cheetah prints clashing with delicate floral patterns, while vibrant digital tones played alongside neutral-toned tailoring. The B-corp brand unveiled six new textiles in its collection, including Circulose®, Celium™ and Symplfyber Fybron™, making their debut on this platform. These innovations are part of the ‘Fabrics of the Future’ initiative launched in 2019, which aims for a 50% reduction in carbon footprint by 2027.
The show culminated with a powerful visual impact: a model appeared on the catwalk in an ethereal, voluminous red dress, adorned with a ruched bodice and knee-high red patent leather boots. This dramatic closure not only amplifies GANNI’s message for SS25, but challenges the concept of ‘quiet luxury’, embracing a bold and innovation-rich vision that celebrates the complexity of contemporary femininity.
