GCDS wants you to take risks and lose your fear of fashion

GCDS returns to the catwalks of Milan Fashion Week to present “What Scares You?”, its autumn/winter 22 collection.

What scares you? With this message, the H. team received an invitation to attend the long-awaited return to the catwalks of the Italian brand GCDS and its creative director and founder Giuliano Calza. This invitation was accompanied not only by this message, but also by a golden key with a baroque design and the brand’s initials, which would give us access to immerse ourselves in the Calza universe and discover the autumn/winter 22 collection first hand.

Despite being the last show of the second day of Milan Fashion Week (MFW), no one wanted to miss the event and the attendees decided to dress up as the occasion deserved to attend the show, held at the Rotonda della Besana. Friends and ambassadors of the brand, such as Aron Piper, Nikita Dragun and Richie Shazam, as well as colleagues such as Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini, and Amina Muaddi, attended the show.

All of the aforementioned celebrated Giuliano’s triumph with fervour, as his proposal was one of the most acclaimed, and no wonder, given that, honouring the title of his collection “What Scares You?”, G.C. wants people to lose their fear when it comes to dressing, to enjoy fashion as it should be enjoyed, and to add imagination and fantasy, where joy, brightness and sparkle can be palpable.

As for the collection, it was made up of more than 40 looks in which the colour pink was one of the protagonists, as the floor of the catwalk anticipated as soon as it arrived. It’s clear that dress codes don’t exist at GCDS, and that’s a relief, as having to wear only 3 colours in autumn/winter is quite boring. The Y2K trend, the brand’s hallmark, is still present, as we could see in some garments with Hello Kitty print and in several looks with rhinestone logos, just look at the impressive LBD with rhinestone appliqués on the chest area worn on the runway by one of the actresses of the moment and cast member of the hit series, Euphoria, Chloe Cherry or the long pink velvet dress with silver straps. In short, glamorous garments full of glitter with a touch of mystery, transparencies, tight bodysuits, flashes of colour and ruffles.

Accessories also played an important role in the designer’s groundbreaking motto, such as crocheted balaclavas covered in flowers, mini bags or XL earrings. Finally, the footwear, in the form of sandals or shiny latex boots, was also one of the most applauded parts, as its almost architectural heel simulating an open mouth with sharp fangs caught the attention of all those present.

Is it clear to you that you need to lose your fear of fashion and taking risks? If so, then you’re ready to see the GCDS show and enjoy their latest collection.
