Givenchy presents its pre-fall rtw 24 for men and women

Givenchy continues to focus on Hubert de Givenchy’s latest collections for its collections. The new Pre-Fall 2024 collection continues to explore formality from a contemporary perspective, based on the principles of fluidity and comfort in dressing.

The feminine closet is defined by a total fluidity when it comes to dressing with vaporous fabrics that let the skin show through or move with the feminine figure, while in some areas of the body they are gathered giving that same silhouette a certain shape, creating contrasts in both textures and shapes. For evening, the Little Black Dress rules: a double pleated back creates an element of surprise, while delicately gathered silk chiffon accentuates seduction with a touch of mystery. New this season is the graphic lace signature, combined with point d’esprit tulle on evening gowns and knitwear.

The tailoring work carried out on the men’s side reflects the innate elegance of the maison’s founder and is complemented by technical garments that can be worn on a daily basis. Givenchy’s iconic trench coat appears with new haute couture volumes. Floral graphics, reflecting Hubert de Givenchy’s love of gardens, unexpected colors and revisited classics make up a master line, while nods to various subcultures inject tension and modernity into the looks, for example in a white tuxedo or a perfect black and gold leather. Givenchy’s codes and savoir-faire are manifested through technical developments in fabrics and hand-embroidery. Wool suits are treated with resin to make them wind- and water-resistant; hand-applied flowers embellish machine-embroidered tulle.

Extravagant touches include jewel-like 4G buttons on both tailoring and flou and pearls, a Givenchy legacy, return in sophisticated resin iterations for men and women, caged on delicate mesh chains or adorning a thick blackened metal Lock necklace. Other House codes include an archival bird motif in the form of a gold-tone necklace, pendant, earrings or pair ring; the neoclassical leather Lock bracelet returns in navy, celadon or light pink. Expanding on Matthew M. Williams‘ established signatures, Giv Cut chains with stylized G-shaped links appear as necklaces, a bracelet, a ring or an ear cuff.

The key accessory in this pre-fall collection is the Voyou bag in both men’s hand-aged leather and embossed supple suede versions, and women’s, now expanded with chain, tote and handbag variations with an elegant sensibility, as well as evening offerings in embossed crocodile leather, tortoiseshell and whimsical feathers. In men’s footwear, Givenchy has partnered with Bogs, the Portland, Oregon-based manufacturer of vulcanized, waterproof footwear: an exclusive laceless Chelsea boot or lace-up trail boots are adorned with Givenchy signatures and come equipped with a technical neoprene 4G sock liner.

While firmly rooted in the house’s vocabulary, the Pre-Fall 2024 collection exudes modern elegance, the basic elements of an iconic and contemporary Givenchy closet.
