Gucci presents the documentary ‘Who is Sabato de Sarno? A Gucci story’

The documentary offering an unprecedented insight into the creation of the Gucci Ancora fashion show, which marked the debut of the House’s new creative director, Sabato De Sarno. The 20-minute short film – released exclusively on the Mubi platform on 15 March 2024 and narrated by Paul Mescal, actor and brand ambassador – promises a unique journey into the Gucci universe.

Delving into the visionary world of creative director Sabato De Sarno’s inaugural collection, ‘Who is Sabato De Sarno? A Gucci Story’ unveils never-before-seen footage and weaves an intimate narrative that transcends the boundaries of the catwalk. Highlighting teamwork as a core value, the film showcases the combined efforts of Sabato De Sarno and his passionate team, highlighting the collective passion and dedication behind the creative process.

Through his lens, the film captures the essence and allure of the fashion world and invites audiences to explore the magic of backstage as they discover Gucci’s new creative director as he shares his personal experience and reveals his passions and vision for the iconic brand. From the beginning of the creative process to its meticulous execution behind the scenes, the film offers a unique insight into the untold stories that have shaped Gucci Ancora.

Following its premiere at Mubi and coinciding with the collection’s arrival in shops, Gucci will host screenings in major cities around the world so that audiences can enjoy the short film on the big screen. An enhanced edition of “Who is Sabato De Sarno?” A Gucci Story’ will be available exclusively on Apple Vision Pro from April 3rd, a first for the fashion and luxury industry.

Available on the App Store, the enhanced edition allows viewers to transform their space and immerse themselves in the beauty and artistry of Gucci Ancora”. Also, through a partnership with Air France, during the month of April ‘Who is Sabato De Sarno? A Gucci Story’ will be available on all Air France flights in April.

Gucci Design Ancora will land in Milan from 15 to 21 April.
