Gucci recalls the timeless spirit of the 1953 Horsebit loafers

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of this icon, a campaign starring Paul Mescal and Xiao Zhan has been launched.

Gucci pays tribute to one of its most iconic footwear silhouettes. The Horsebit 1953 loafer, now in its 70th year, is an enduring emblem of the House‘s heritage and savoir-faire. First introduced in its namesake year, it completely revolutionised the footwear industry by combining sophistication and comfort as never before. Its design is particularly distinctive, featuring a miniature horse bit (a double ring connected by a bar), and quickly became a Gucci signature element.

Over six sprawling decades, the 1953 Horsebit moccasin has evolved into a wardrobe staple that immortalises Italian craftsmanship, American lifestyle and classic British equestrian codes.
