In the heart of the city of light, the House of Gucci opens the first permanent boutique dedicated to its ever-growing world of travel.
Located at 229 Rue Saint-Honoré, between Place Vendôme and the Jardin des Tuileries, the first permanent Gucci Valigeria boutique is a two-storey space whose interior is inspired by the luxury travels of the Belle Époque. The intimate and refined décor evokes the atmosphere of an elegant vintage train carriage, with contrasting walnut wood furnishings and finishes and canvas upholstery in neutral tones.
The bookcases are accented by Solomonic columns with oval lamps and feature carved lion’s head detailing, while the concave moulded ceiling is highlighted by a striking mesh-covered soffit that reflects light and creates a warm, welcoming ambience.
The lower floor retains the original refinished parquet flooring, while the upper floor features a hand-loomed tartan carpet. A brass shelf reminiscent of the traditional luggage racks of the period is placed on a capitonné banquette, and the interiors are complemented by reinterpretations of luggage trolleys designed as shop windows.
Gucci Valigeria is a powerful reminder of our Florentine roots and timeless craft,” says Marco Bizzarri, President and CEO of Gucci. It is a symbol of our heritage, reinterpreted over the years for the travellers and explorers of every era. Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris is the perfect location for our first Gucci Valigeria boutique, a gateway to our ever-growing world of travel and discovery.
The Gucci Valigeria boutique features a carefully curated selection of Gucci’s travel offering, from totes, backpacks and travel bags to suitcases, vanity cases, hatboxes, suitcases and boots – both hard and soft – including aluminium trolleys created in collaboration with Italian luxury luggage manufacturer FPM Milano.
Many of the designs belong to the Gucci Savoy collection, which is characterised by heritage-inspired elements such as the monogram, double-G metal appliqués and/or the House’s triband. Also worthy of note are the Gucci Bauletto top-handle bags, with their distinctive triangular silhouette adorned with colourful prints, vibrant palettes and oversized GGs.
