Happy 420! 9 celebrities that invest in marijuana

For International Marijuana Day, 420, we look back at some of the celebrities who have invested in cannabis because they love it, use it and are passionate about it.

Happy International Marijuana Day, readers! Today, April 20th, the famous 420 is celebrated. Its consumption and distribution is becoming more and more normalized; but many countries, such as Spain, haven’t legalized it. However, more and more celebrities are taking the step and deciding to invest in what has already become an entire industry. We tell you who they are:

1. MIKE TYSON

The former boxer is the owner of TYSON 2.0, pa supplier of high quality cannabis products throughout the USA. His ranch, known by all as Tyson Ranch, apart from producing different strains of marijuana, is a themed resort. Visitors learn how to grow marijuana. According to several US media, this business is earning the heavyweight champion a profit of half a million dollars a month.

2. SNOOP DOGG

It’s no secret that Snoop Dogg is the biggest marijuana fan in Stardom. He has his own brand, Leafs by Snoop, which launched a few years ago in Colorado. It provides both recreational and medicinal products. Leafs by Snoop offers 8 strains of marijuana flowers that have been hand-selected by the rapper.

And that’s not the only thing, guys, because the rapper is co-founder of Casa Verde Capital, a leading venture capital firm in the cannabis industry, which focuses primarily on investing in scalable, capital-efficient businesses.

Late last 2022, after acquiring Death Row Records earlier this year, Snoop Dogg included cannabis as part of the label’s offering: Death Row Cannabis.

3. WIZ KHALIFA

Like his partner Snoop, Wiz Khalifa is another well-known marijuana lover. His brand Khalifa Kush (KK) was developed with a proprietary strain at the beginning of the past decade and in 2016 he began distributing it for his fans. Available products include flower, made joints, vaporizers, edibles and concentrates, and are available in California, Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Nevada, Oregon and Utah.

4. TRAVIS SCOTT

In 2021, Travis Scott launched his own brand and strain of cannabis called Cactus Farms. To do so, he partnered with Connected Cannabis, a distributor of cannabis-derived products located in Sacramento, California. This synergy resulted in the new indica-derived strain, which, in the rapper’s words, is a “dense, purple bud that releases a spicy, sweet, gassy aroma”.

5. JAY-Z

Jay-Z is known to be a great entrepreneur, and among one of the businesses is a cannabis company of his own. Monogram is born out of the entrepreneur and rapper’s union with Caliva, one of the largest vertically integrated cannabis companies in the United States.

Jay-Z joined Caliva as Head of Brand Strategy in July 2019 and two years ago launched his Monogram brand to offer several products, including a $50 hand-rolled joint.

6. GWYNETH PALTROW

Creator of Goop, a company dedicated to the world of wellness and lifestyle, the actress has created revolutionary products that have gone viral, such as the vagina-scented candle. But Gwyneth Paltrow has turned her eye (and her money) to the cannabis industry- She has invested in Cann. These drinks contain “micro-doses” of THC and CBD. According to the actress are a good alternative to alcohol and in line with her quest for wellness.

7. BELLA THORNE

Bella Thorneowns her own cannabis brand, Forbidden Flowers in collaboration with Glass House Group. The brand produces 3.5 g buds and ready-made joints. The full Forbidden Flowers line features Indica, Sativa, hybrid and CBD products. The strains you can find are called Chill Out, Hype Up, Turn OnZone In, which replicate the vibes they offer.

The former footballer acquired through his investment fund 5% of Cellular Goods for no less than 250,000 pounds. The brand is focused on beauty and medicinal products with cannabidiol (CBD). The company is now valued at £5.5 million.

9. JALEEL WHITE (STEVE URKLE)

Just a year ago, the actor of ‘Family Matters’ brought back his character Steve Urkle to announce his new marijuana business: Purple Urkle. The actor markets recreational marijuana in collaboration with the firm 710 Labs. This line of products created by himself is a clear reference to the character that made him famous.
