Havaianas launches its first 3D printed flip-flops with Zellerfeld

As Havaianas consolidates its position as the brand of choice on the catwalk and in streetwear, it presents a collaboration with Zellerfeld that marks a technological and cultural milestone. A pioneer of flip-flop design since 1962, the Brazilian brand introduces for the first time a model created using 3D printing. The flip-flop will debut during Copenhagen Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2026.

The Havaianas innovation team worked closely with Zellerfeld throughout the 3D printing process. Conceived through an intensive design sprint, the silhouette maintains the brand’s most recognisable visual codes. These include the rice-grain texture, the arrangement of the strips and a minimalist aesthetic. All reinterpreted with a rounded shape and a sculptural toe cap.

Zellerfeld prints the model in one piece using its patented process. The flip-flop features a dense lattice structure that ensures a soft, cushioned footbed. A transformation that turns the iconic flip-flop into a contemporary design piece.

‘Bringing the originality of our design to innovative technologies was key to reinforce the timelessness of our aesthetic,’ explains Ieda Pavani, Global Design Director of Havaianas.

For his part, Cornelius Schmitt, CEO and co-founder of Zellerfeld, says it’s not just a collaboration with Havaianas, but represents another big step towards a future where every shoe on the planet will be 3D printed. ‘Who wouldn’t want custom-made flip-flops?’ adds Schmitt.

Havaianas x Zellerfeld will be available in five colours from September, exclusively at zellerfeld.com.
