Thinking about getting a haircut but still can’t make up your mind? Before you make the decision, you should follow this simple rule.
Hailey Bieber, Chiara Ferragni, Aitana, Zendaya… there are many celebrities who have joined the bob trend in recent months. And although we love the way it looks on them, it’s true that not everyone has the same type of face. That’s why we all hesitate so much when it comes to taking the plunge: will it look good on us?
That’s the question most often asked on TikTok, the hashtag ‘how to know if short hair looks good on me’ has accumulated millions of hits. Among the methods, there is one that has gone viral: that of influencer Amy Chang. This expert in skin and hair care explains that there is a trick that never fails: the five centimetre rule.
The 5.5 centimetre rule
Before you make your decision, you should follow this simple rule. Simply measure the distance from your earlobe to your chin. To do this, hold a pencil horizontally under your chin and place a ruler vertically under your ear. If the point where they intersect is less than 5.5 centimetres, go ahead, you passed the test and you can cut your hair as short as you like. If the measurement is greater than 5.5 centimetres, it is advisable to cut your hair not so short.
