FRIDAY 26TH MAY
At the age of 20, Rondodasosa can boast of being one of the mainstays of the new rap made in Europe, that which draws as much from UK drill as from trap or afrobeat. This rapper from the SEVEN 7oo collective, with a handful of singles and the EP Giovane Rondo, entered, in his own right, among the most interesting artists on the Italian rap scene at just eighteen years of age. Now you can see him at the Fuego party at Razzmatazz alongside Yibril and Dirtilarita. Tickets here.
SATURDAY 27TH MAY
Mónica Rikić presents an exhibition at La Capella based on a revealing concept. Hypertelia is the excessive development of an organ, which causes it to lose its function. The artist equates it with technologies, which have become a hypertelic organ because they are a source of discomfort and anguish. Rikić exhibits handmade electronic devices to reflect on power in defining the future.
Chica Gang, made up of Rocío and Albal, is a duo that has been burning up Spanish dancefloors since 2017 with electronic beats inspired by the sounds and styles of the most underground club. The project was born from the CHICA platform, created by women with the intention of promoting female-LGTBIQ+ art while creating a safe space in the Madrid nightlife. The Chica Gang return to the Catalan capital on 27 May at the Apolo. Tickets here.
SUNDAY 28TH MAY
The Cosmocaixa Science Museum is hosting the Spanish premiere of the exhibition ‘The Science of Pixar’. From 17 May to 3 September, you can enjoy an interactive exhibition that presents the science, technology, engineering and mathematics used by the artists and computer scientists who created the legendary Pixar films.
Last week saw the start of the musical and performative maelstrom that defines Coldplay’s unmistakable style. The British alternative rock band kicked off a series of four concerts at Barcelona’s Olympic Stadium on 24, 25, 27 and 28 May. This weekend, one of the band’s telorenas will be Ona Mafalda, an emerging artist who is the granddaughter of Simeon of Bulgaria.
