HIGHXTAR Weekends | WHAT TO DO IN BARCELONA

One more week, from the HIGHXTAR. team, we are in charge of collecting the best plans to enjoy the weekend to the fullest. For all those without ideas… Pay attention, here are our weekly recommendations.

JUNE 9TH FRIDAY

The Sala Paral-lel 62 opens its doors this Friday to celebrate its first anniversary. In all this time, the space has hosted 234 shows and 100,000 people, and tonight offers an exciting quadruple bill with Marala, the Latin neo soul trio Çantamarta and the already known by the Barcelona night Wekaforé and Sonido Tupinamba.

On the occasion of Pride month, from June 8 to 18 will be held Muestra Fire!!, the LGTBI-themed film festival at the French Institute and Filmin. It will feature the screening of ‘Eismayer’, which deals with the conflict between the repressed homosexuality of an Austrian army sergeant, and other outstanding films such as the documentary ‘Alteritats’ or the South Korean drama ‘A Distant Place’.

JUNE 10TH SATURDAY

Share Festival 2023 is here, the urban music event that takes place this weekend at the Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona. Bizarrap, Quevedo, Dellafuente and Morad headline this fifth edition, which features many outstanding names such as HOKE & Louis Amoeba, Maiker Delacalle, YSY A, Ptazeta, Saiko, Aleesha, Fusa Nocta, Miss Raisa, José de las Heras and more.

JUNE 11TH SUNDAY

We also have the perfect plan for this Sunday: Zoco Market in Barcelona will feature several talented exhibitors offering accessories, fashion, jewelry, decoration and art of the highest quality. Who doesn’t like to visit a market on the last day of the weekend?

Also, as part of the Cinema Fora de Lloc festival, this Sunday you can see “But I’m a cheerleader” for free at the Salvador Seguí square. It is an iconic 90’s comedy in which a young cheerleader is sent to a conversion camp when her parents identify her as a lesbian, much to her surprise. It is in that break called “The Right Direction” that Megan ironically begins to examine and inquire into her gender identity and sexual orientation.
