This is the first chapter of a global platform dedicated to capturing the style, energy and urban identity of cities around the world.
H&M has just unveiled its latest initiative, captured by acclaimed photographer Rafael Pavarotti, which seeks to capture how fashion and culture shape people and, in turn, define the spirit of the city they inhabit.
In this way, H&M&NEW YORK combines icons with new faces, placing them on equal footing. It also brings together trendsetters and others who radiate personality without trying, creating a dynamic mosaic of style and self-expression. Among the protagonists are Ice Spice, John Turturro, Lila Kebede, Paloma Elsesser, Kareem Rahma, Jay Guapo, Kai Schreiber and Lynn Yaeger, alongside anonymous faces that reflect the diversity and authenticity of the city that never sleeps.
‘One of the best things about New York is the style. Every day you are inspired by the unique characters you see out and about. Without a doubt, my style – and the way I express myself – has been shaped by the city’ – Ice Spice.
The series will be just the first stop on a global tour. In spring, H&M&RIO will bring this vision to Brazil, capturing the unique vitality and spirit of Rio de Janeiro. Later on, chapters are expected in iconic cities such as London and Paris, consolidating the platform as a living archive of contemporary style and culture around the world.
