Opening the doors to FENDI’s centenary in 2025, the festive montage sublimates the Maison’s codes in graphic and fun decorations. A FENDI logo with bubbling glass lettering becomes the common thread of the Christmas setting. Inspired by Italian Murano glass craftsmanship and traditional decorations, the festive FENDI logo is coloured in antiqued and metallic silver, blue and powdered pink.
The windows follow the same aesthetic, in a playful interplay of materials and shapes. Inspired by an archival sketch by Karl Lagerfeld from 1984, Father Christmas becomes a vintage-inspired silhouette that shapes a festive tree alongside Peekaboo and Baguette bags, yellow FENDI packaging and glass balls, all placed in a seemingly unstable balance on a seesaw. The metallic effect of these elements is reminiscent of the leather goods textures of the FENDI Winter Holiday 2024 collection, in shades of platinum, silver, blue and powder pink.
Colourful festive decorations will shape the FENDI Christmas tree, in a combination of various glass balls and bubbling FENDI letters, as well as an animated reinterpretation of the FF logo placed at the top. Macro ornaments in iridescent colours and different dimensions will illuminate the façade of the iconic boutique Palazzo FENDI Rome from the end of November 2024. In addition, a magnificent festive tree will be placed in Largo Goldoni in front of the boutique, shaped by a combination of the same glass balls, striped or solid, coloured in a palette of cheerful red, delicate gold, metallic green and light pink.
To create an unforgettable holiday experience, FENDI has partnered with Meta on two immersive augmented reality (AR) filters for Instagram that bring the Maison’s festive setting to life. The first, available exclusively at the FENDI New Bond Street boutique, is activated when you scan the QR code on the boutique’s shop window. As you view the façade through your phone screens, you will witness the balls and letters of the montage flying through the air in a dazzling display of light and colour. The second filter, available everywhere, allows users to shape and decorate a FENDI augmented reality Christmas tree wherever they are.
