Hublot and Yohji Yamamoto revisit the art of black with the Classic Fusion All Black Camo

Hublot and Yohji Yamamoto team up once again for the Classic Fusion All Black Camo, a limited edition that explores black as an essence rather than a colour.

Black as common ground.

Hublot and Yohji Yamamoto come together once more to explore a territory they both master like few others: black, understood not as absence, but as essence. This marks their fourth collaboration since 2020 and the first based on the iconic Classic Fusion model. The result is the Classic Fusion Yohji Yamamoto All Black Camo, a limited edition of 300 pieces in which every texture, contrast and shadow is carefully considered.

The 42 mm matte black ceramic case features a solid, clean design that absorbs light and defines the watch’s depth. The monochromatic camouflage, black on black, adds visual dynamism without compromising the overall restraint. Also, the strap, combining fabric and rubber, brings together comfort, functionality and technical precision in a single design.

Beyond the watch itself, this collaboration stands as a shared statement. Both Hublot and Yohji Yamamoto have built their legacies by questioning the traditional idea of luxury through deconstruction. In 1980, Hublot disrupted Swiss watchmaking by combining gold and rubber under the concept of the Art of Fusion. One year later, Yohji Yamamoto made his Paris Fashion Week debut with black silhouettes that challenged excess and industry norms, reshaping the language of contemporary fashion.

A shared vision

For both, black is a design tool. Hublot’s All Black concept, introduced in 2006, focuses on working with light through volume and texture rather than colour. In the watch, this is expressed through matte ceramic, smoked sapphire and varied surface finishes. In Yohji Yamamoto’s work, black appears in fabrics such as wool, silk and cotton, used in layers that change with movement.

“Black reveals what is truly important, purifies form and lets silhouette and texture speak for themselves,” says Yohji Yamamoto. This idea is echoed by Hublot through material: a living black, built in layers, where each surface reacts differently to light. “We believe luxury is not about what shines, but about what endures,” says Julien Tornare, CEO of Hublot.

In the Classic Fusion Yohji Yamamoto All Black Camo, the camouflage appears as a black-on-black relief that shifts with the light. The dial follows the same monochromatic approach, with subtle changes as the watch moves. The smoked sapphire case back reveals the automatic MHUB1110 calibre and its skeletonised rotor. Yohji Yamamoto’s signature is integrated into the 300 customised presentation boxes that accompany this limited edition.

Hublot celebrates 10 years with the UEFA Champions League alongside Mbappé.
