Hugh Turvey X-Rays most coveted sneakers

British artist and photographer Hugh Turvey has radiographed some of this season’s most popular sneakers for his new photo series “Xograms“.

The images expose to light the construction of the most coveted models on the market. Among the photos are: Balenciaga Triple-S, Louis Vuitton Archlight or the Yeezy Desert Rat. Other popular models such as the Nike Air VaporMax, Gucci SEGA or the FILA Disruptor II add to the proposal.

Turvey comentó que la zapatilla SEGA de Gucci fue uno de los modelos más difíciles de fotografiar debido a su compleja construcción y acentos en piedra. “No esperaba ver el nivel de detalle que se veía en las zapatillas Gucci”, afirmó Turvey. “Además de las gemas, se pueden ver en el talón pequeños alfileres y un trozo de metal que son característicos de la construcción tradicional del calzado y demuestran otro nivel de calidad de construcción que simplemente no me esperaba ver en una zapatilla de deporte”.

Turvey said Gucci‘s SEGA shoe was one of the most difficult models to photograph because of its complex construction and stone accents. “I didn’t expect to see the level of detail seen in Gucci sneakers,” Turvey said. “In addition to the gems, you can see small pins and a piece of metal on the heel that are characteristic of traditional shoe construction and demonstrate another level of construction quality I just didn’t expect to see in a sneaker.”
