In May last year, Ib Kamara was appointed the new art and image director of Off-White™ following the passing of Virgil Abloh. Now, the pioneering streetwear brand has just launched its first pre-collection under the direction of fashion journalist, stylist and creative director, Ib Kamara.
Creative Ib Kamara presents the first Off-White™ Pre-Fall collection for the 2023 season entitled “Lunar Shipping”. This time, the launch takes a more refined approach with formalwear and elevated streetwear pieces. While it still has nods to the heritage left by Virgil Abloh after his passing, Ib Kamara has taken inspiration from the new workings of humanity that coexist organically with shippings, presenting a line that is a nod to how the brand has evolved in recent years.
While the tailoring comes in oversized and baggy proportions, the brand stays true to its urban roots, launching motocross jackets in premium leather and varsity jackets paired with pleated trousers and asymmetrical skirts. Baggy trousers leave room for versatility, too, as they come with multi-pockets that mimic the cargo silhouette. Technical details include utility-style buckles and harnesses that give the tailored pieces the Off-White™ touch.
Ib Kamara makes her Off-White debut on the catwalk during Paris Fashion Week.
