A new release by Judeline is always good news for Spanish music. The irruption of the very young artist from Cádiz onto the national scene when she barely came of age has been undeniable. Judeline has convinced her own and others to the point of becoming one of the new generation stars with the greatest projection on the national and international scene.
Halfway between avant-garde, alternative pop and the folklore of her native Andalusia -which is not the same as flamenco-, Judeline has signed hits like ‘CANIJO’, ‘Zahara’ or ‘mangata’, the latter, the first advance of her debut album. At the same time, she has collaborated with international artists such as Tainy and national references such as DELLAFUENTE, while touring with J Balvin on his European tour.
It’s in this context that ‘INRI’ is released, the second secret to be revealed from their debut full-length and a narrative continuation of ‘mangata’, both musically and visually speaking. Once again, the videoclip is co-produced by Partizan & Blur, with Nono & Rodrigo as directors of the piece.
INRI’ is once again produced by Tuiste and Mayo, Judeline’s regular collaborators, as well as Browni and executive produced by Grammy winner and 13-time Grammy nominee Rob Bisel (SZA, Tate McRae, Don Toliver). With this team behind her, ‘INRI’ is one of the most interesting songs to come out of Spain this year in terms of sound.
Judeline opts for a fusion between avant-garde urban pop and the Afro reminiscences of the production, which join the references to the Arab world that populate the lyrics of a song like ‘INRI’, with which the artist from Cádiz returns to explore love in the 21st century from a very personal perspective, where spirituality plays a key role.
Judeline premieres ‘Mangata’, the first single from her long-awaited album.
