Instagram adds “like” option to stories

Instagram has added a new feature that is less invasive than a reaction to indicate that you like a story – “likes”.

Instagram has added a new, less invasive feature to determine that you “like” a story. In addition to reacting to stories with emojis, you now have a less intrusive way to do this, which will not be reflected in your inbox but in the list of people who have seen your “storie”.

After months of testing, the most widely used social network par excellence has decided to add a function that did not exist until now. Surprisingly enough, the only way to indicate that you liked a story was through a reaction, which could lead to awkward conversations. The solution is a new heart button, which is already reaching some users.

The new update comes as a heart button is installed next to the box for replying with a message. In a way, it’s the same as before but less personalised, as you can’t indicate whether you’re surprised, amused or delighted. The good thing is that you can undo a “like” by going back to the story at any time.

Instagram is enabling this feature for some accounts, as they can now “like” all stories. However, those who receive it won’t be able to see the hearts until the feature is enabled for them. You will be able to see the viewers who have “liked” you from the list of people who have seen your story indicated by a heart.
