Instagram launches special Valentine’s Day features

They are already available and you can discover them until 18:00 on Thursday 15 February and it is important that you have the latest version of the platform. But what are these hidden features?

• In Notes: Posting or tapping on Notes containing keywords or emojis related to Valentine’s Day will trigger an animated heart in your DM inbox.
  • The key words are: Happy Valentine’s Day, , , , , , ,  and many others. 
• In Stories: Posting or tapping an @mention in Stories will activate floating hearts. Hearts will also be added to the @mentions sticker in your sticker tray. 
• Some interesting statistics: According to the latest Trend Talk report produced by Instagram, 28% of Generation Z take the first step by exchanging their Instagrams after meeting someone new, because they find it more comfortable and informal.

“Now You”: Design your own templates to share in Stories in an original and personalised way. Since the launch of this feature, hundreds of millions of “Now You” templates have been shared around the world. Valentine’s Day is the best time. Find the cutest photo you have with your partner and post it on IG with the “Now You” feature.

Share a Reel or a meme that you know he/she will love: Don’t hesitate to send your potential date a meme or a reel of people you have in common. Also, direct messages are a perfect channel to reach out to someone who is stuck romantically and send them hints that “they’re joking, but if you want to, they’re not joking”.
