Apple has confirmed that its iPhones will have to adapt to the Type-C port by December 2024, according to European regulations.

The European Union has set the date from which most electronic devices will have to adopt the USB-C charging port, including Apple iPhones, to 28 December 2024.

This is a fact that Apple has already taken on board, and has confirmed that it will comply with the new European directive, thus dispensing with its own Lightning port on iPhones, although they have made it clear that they are not compliant.

This date also affects tablets, digital cameras, headphones, portable game consoles, wireless speakers (‘eReaders’), and accessories such as keyboards, mice, headphones and portable navigation devices.
