In the campaign, everyone carries a copy of the brand’s new Rodeo bag in a series of photographs taken by Nadav Kander. The brand has dubbed the shoot The Characters Campaign. The campaign highlights Balenciaga’s power of attraction when it comes to global celebrities: Huppert has twice won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival and the César, France’s top film award; Watts has twice been nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress; and Kardashian is an icon of today’s pop culture.
‘Each star shows a side of themselves, creating a character study, sitting in a simple chair against an infinite white background. They are dressed in Balenciaga’s signature ready-to-wear: hybrid garments, sleek silhouettes, evening gowns and Knife stilettos,’ say the house. Its unique construction, matte-finish calfskin, versatile closure system, frayed pleats, softened piping and raw edges make this bag feel like an heirloom heirloom.
