Jacquemus launches “Le Valèrie”, a handbag dedicated to his mother

Jacquemus returns with a new bag, and this time it’s very personal. ‘Le Valérie’ —the key piece of the season— arrives after being seen for the first time in the Le Paysan show, and is inspired by Simon’s mother. The brand’s new accessory is an emotional extension of the universe he built in that collection: childhood in the south of France, the countryside, the slow pace of rural life, and the poetry behind everyday life. Charlotte Lebon stars in the campaign.

Le Valérie brings together two spirits that have coexisted at Jacquemus for years: modern sophistication and a constant nostalgia for Simon’s life. It retains the structured silhouette of a classic city bag, upright, elegant, autonomous. But at the same time, it maintains that naive appeal of manual folding, as if someone had folded the leather with their hands, without artifice, without industrial coldness. The bag inherits the sculptural ring of the Bambola —inspired by the architecture of Casa Malaparte— but reinterprets it in a more feminine key.

There is something mature about its construction, but also something playful. This duality is not intended to attract attention: it is simply Jacquemus’ DNA. The Maison’s most personal pieces are never presented as relics, but as living objects that can be used without complications. That is why, alongside the bag, there are small, unexpected ‘jewels’: a series of leather charms, designed with savoir-faire but born from a playful wink. Tomatoes, fruits, minimal elements that recall his paysannes roots, the elders who worked the land, sold produce, and filled life with small, honest gestures.

Jacquemus thus offers an item that feels intimate, elegant and everyday at the same time. A bag designed to be a centrepiece, but also to accompany you in your daily life. Le Valérie is a portable embrace of the memory of Simon’s mother, and everything she represents in the construction of the Jacquemus imaginary. Because sometimes, the most modern thing fashion can do is remember where it comes from, right?

Le Valérie is now available on the website.
