Javier Calleja, one of the most renowned international artists, joins Avant Arte for the launch of a new limited edition of two prints “Floating” & “It wasn’t me”, signed and numbered.
“Floating” shows a carefree figure suspended in the air. Blushing, with his hands shyly in his pockets, he gazes innocently and somewhat mischievously at a daisy perched on his head. The pink letters add lightness to the scene by completing the composition.
“It wasn’t me” The wide-eyed figure, adorned with mischievous horns and a mischievous smile, clearly contradicts the floating text “It wasn’t me”, which hints at a larger story waiting to be told. Full of suggestive contrasts and depicted with a bold use of fiery tones.
Javier composes a diptych of life’s potential and complexity by constructing a “simple but not easy” narrative that suspends each figure in a moment of evocative storytelling. Originally drawn in pencil, Calleja’s soft use of colour lends a dreamlike quality to this snapshot of the limitless possibilities of youth and captures the intriguing intention between innocence and mischief.
Registration available for purchase from 15 to 30 April 2024 via www.avantarte.com.
Javier Calleja presents his first collaboration with Lladró at Art Week Miami.
