The iconic designer announces on Instagram his retirement from Moschino after 10 years as creative director, leaving us memorable designs inspired by pop culture and comics.
Jeremy Scott announced the news in a post on Instagram. “After 10 years I’m announcing that I’m leaving Moschino today. It has been exciting to create designs that will live forever. I am grateful for the love and support I have received over this past decade. I close a chapter and am excited for what is about to come,” wrote the designer.
Massimo Ferretti, CEO of Aeffe, told Women’s Wear Daily: “I have been very fortunate to have been able to work with the creative force that is Jeremy Scott. I want to thank him for the 10 years of commitment he has had to the legacy of Franco Moschino, taking the brand’s style heritage and putting his distinctive stamp on it and his joyful vision that will always be part of the brand’s history.” Scott describes his years at the Italian house as “a wonderful celebration of creativity and imagination.”
The American designer has worked under the influence of pop culture, kitsch and comics throughout his career, with a strong love of color and a sense of humor. His creativity and ingenuity have not left fashion observers indifferent over the past ten years, both with his work for Moschino and for his namesake brand. His ability to create viral looks has left us with some like the candelabra dress for Katy Perry or his hamburger suit, in addition to the Barbiecore or his McDonalds-inspired collection.
No word yet on who will take the helm of the brand from now on, and Scott has yet to announce his next project. Don’t miss any updates on the matter at Highxtar.
