Jil Sander’s new book celebrates her legacy of ‘more is less’

Jil Sander, the empress of less is more, invites us to delve into her life and legacy with a book titled as accurately as her own aesthetic: Jil Sander by Jil Sander. Published by Prestel, this monumental 360-page work is distinguished by its impeccable binding and an impressive selection of 525 full-color illustrations, signed by Irma Boom, one of the most influential book designers today.

From her first forays into the world of fashion in the 1960s, to her consolidation as one of the most important figures in the industry in the 1980s and 1990s, the book traces the designer’s career with a detailed focus on her aesthetic evolution, marked by minimalism and the utmost quality. The work not only delves into her collections, but also her forays into other fields, such as makeup and her successful collaboration with Uniqlo, which gave rise to the iconic +J.A. sublabel.

The book is now available in Prestel Publishing‘s online store.

Escif releases The Foundations of Harmony and Invention.
