As creative director of the men’s and women’s lines.
The Maison has confirmed what many in the industry already sensed: Jonathan Anderson has been chosen as creative director of all lines, thus becoming Dior’s eighth couturier. A throne that few have occupied with so much weight.
With this appointment, the House is returning to its past and continuing to write the lines of its history. In the early years, Christian Dior directed all parts of the brand with a holistic vision. Now, the Briton is reviving this formula, setting himself up as the total figure, the architect of a new phase that promises to reformulate the traditional codes with the freedom that characterises him so much.
‘I am incredibly honoured to have the opportunity to unite Dior’s women’s, men’s and couture collections under a single, coherent vision. My instinct is to be guided by the empathetic spirit of the house. I look forward to working with its legendary ateliers to craft the next chapter of this incredible story. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Bernard Arnault and Delphine Arnault for their trust and loyalty over the years,’ he says.
Anderson‘s official debut with Dior Homme is scheduled for 27 June.
