Jungjae Lee is the protagonist of the second chapter of Gucci Valigeria

Gucci’s global ambassador stars in a new travel campaign filmed at London’s Savoy Hotel that explores the House’s origins.

At the turn of the last century, a young Guccio Gucci, working as a bellboy at the Savoy Hotel, discovered the magic of travel and conceived a way to combine the luxurious leather suitcases carried by the international jet set with the craftsmanship of his native Florence. Inspired by the House’s heritage, the Gucci Savoy collection pays homage to the place where Guccio Gucci had his first revelation through iconic codes such as the GG monogram and the triband.

In the second chapter of the Gucci Valigeria campaign, award-winning actor and global brand ambassador Jungjae Lee embarks on a journey to the place where the House’s history began: the Savoy Hotel. It was in this historic London hotel that the young Guccio Gucci, who worked as a bellboy while watching the international jet set in the lobby, found the inspiration to create his own luggage workshop upon his return to Florence.

With iconic designs in hand, Jungjae Lee explores this historic location while revealing how the House has expanded its original vision of creating ingenious luggage designs throughout its 102-year history. He looks in front of the iconic Savoy Hotel sign, as well as inside the iconic Royal Suite by Gucci, now decorated with pieces from the Gucci Décor collection.

An exploration that shows us not only the House’s past, but also its present, and reflects how its founding narrative is still present today in the Gucci Valigeria collection. The images showcase designs from the Gucci Savoy line, which pays homage to the importance of the hotel in Gucci’s history, as well as the new selection of Gucci Porter aluminium suitcases, adorned with the GG monogram and the iconic Gucci triband and created in collaboration with FPM Milano, including the iconic Bank hard suitcase, a classic for the Italian luxury luggage manufacturer.
